Existing Rotaid cabinets will also be replaced in stages over the coming period.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This decision is based on our own practical experience. Over the past few years, we have installed, maintained and inspected AEDs throughout the Netherlands, giving us a clear picture of how AED cabinets perform in practice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Our experience with the previous cabinet<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the past few years, we have regularly encountered situations with Rotaid cabinets that, in our view, do not meet the standards expected of a public AED cabinet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With Rotaid AED cabinets, our observations included:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2093\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/zJWA-PaDyTM?si=RMAU7viVPNLijUM4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2093\" class=\"wp-image-2093 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/city-aed.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-2026-07-23-at-10.45.59-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2093\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Still from an RTV Oost report. Source: YouTube (clickable)<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>too many instances where the cabinet was very difficult to open, which we consider unacceptable in an emergency.<\/li>\n<li>temperatures inside the cabinet that, according to our observations, became too high on sunny days (&gt;70\u00b0C), exposing the AED to prolonged heat that may affect its performance;<\/li>\n<li>and deterioration of the cabinet and AED through prolonged exposure to sunlight and UV radiation;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>An AED cabinet must be reliable<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An AED is intended to save lives. We believe the cabinet housing it should not introduce uncertainty. That is why we have chosen Nexus. Source: YouTube (clickable)<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to experts, the Nexus cabinet fully meets the characteristics we consider important for long-term public use, including weather protection, temperature management, durability and a reliable opening mechanism.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this reason, all new installations will use Nexus cabinets from now on.
